This configuration can get the names of the RM50's internal rhythm kits, but not card or internal pitched voice names or card rhythm kit names. This is because Yamaha currently does not provide documented system exclusive commands for getting these names.
Before using the Get Patch Dump command you must enable system exclusive data reception on the RM50 by setting a Device ID number. To do so, press the Utility button and then the Page buttons until you see the MIDI page. Press +1/Yes. Press the Page buttons until you see the Device number page. Enter a number. A value of 1 (one) will work fine unless you have more than one RM50 on the same MIDI port, in which case you should give them each unique numbers. Do not use the All setting. Be sure that the RM50's Device ID in FreeMIDI Setup matches the Device number on the RM50 front panel. Since PatchList Manager gets a system exclusive data dump of all internal rhythm kits from the RM50, you can use the Send Patch Dump command to send edited internal rhythm kit patch names back to the RM50.
